Ever wish you could dress like former White House intern Monica Lewinsky? Well, now’s your chance.
Thirty-two items belonging to President Clinton’s former mistress, including a sheer black negligée and navy blue velour DKNY hooded jacket, are available for auction through Nate D. Sanders Auctions. The auction is scheduled to end on June 27.
All of the items in the auction date back to the years in which Lewinsky and Clinton were together and were examined as part of the Kenneth Starr investigation into the affair.
“Items owned by Monica Lewinsky, especially relating to the Clinton scandal and Ken Starr investigation are exceedingly rare,” Nate Sanders said in a statement. “This is, to my knowledge, the only collection of this nature to come to light.”
The back story behind how this “extraordinary lot” of items got to the auction block is just as scandalous. According to Fishbowl DC, the items were originally gifted to Andy Bleiler, Lewinsky’s former HS teacher with whom she had a five year affair. Bleiler’s ex-wife, Kate Nason, unsurprisingly wanted nothing to do with the items and put them up for auction. Lewinsky’s affair with Bleiler became public knowledge during the Starr investigation.
Other items in the lot include three sealed but slightly crushed boxes of presidential M&Ms, love letters on White House stationery from Lewinsky to Bleiler and a book of 24 presidential matches. The full list of items can be found here.
All of the clothes on the auction block is sized L or XL. If you were looking to get your hands on Lewinsky’s infamous blue Gap dress you’re out of luck, however, as the dress is not part of the lot.
While the items are expected to go for somewhere between $25,000 and $50,000 when the auction closes on Thursday, as of press time only two people have bid on the items with the highest bid a mere $2,750.
