[WATCH] Al Sharpton attacks GOP, conservative orgs for ‘offensive’ attacks on Obamacare Youth Summit

Katie LaPotin, Red Alert Politics, December 4, 2013

Continuing the theme of President Barack Obama’s remarks at the Youth Summit, MSNBC’s Al Sharpton lashed out at Republicans and several conservative organizations on his show Wednesday night, calling their attacks on the summit “offensive.”

“I’ll tell you what’s offensive: When the Republicans call the website ‘President Obama’s Katrina’. When the right-wing groups said the president was ‘terrorizing’ the country. When a group backed by billionairesused a ‘Creepy Uncle Sam’ to try to scare young people not to get insurance – that was offensive,” the Reverend said, attempting to build on a statement by Republican National Committee National Youth Director Elliott Echols from earlier in the day.

“But helping millions of Americans get health insurance – it’s working, and they can’t handle it,” he continued.

The “Politics Nation” host then entered into a dialogue with fellow MSNBC hosts Karen Finney and Abby Huntsman about how, in their opinion, the GOP is recycling “debunked statements” and stale talking points to distract the American people from the notion that the site – and the law itself – is working.
