MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry has officially apologized to former presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his family for making fun of their newest member, Kieran, on her show Sunday.
She gave her apology in a series of tweets sent out from her personal account Tuesday morning accented by the hashtag #MHPapology.

Harris-Perry and her “Nerdland” panel were discussing some of the ‘craziest’ pictures from 2013 when they made fun of the Romney family’s annual Christmas photo for Kieran’s presence. Kieran, who is black, was adopted in September by Romney’s second-youngest son Ben and his wife Andelynne.
“One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just isn’t the same,” one of the panelists sang off-camera while Harris-Perry looks forward to the future marriage of Kieran and North West.
“Nerdland” panel members Dean Obeidallah and Pia Glenn have also offered their own forms of apology to the Romney family and adoptive parents nationwide over the segment.
Harris-Perry is the second MSNBC host in as many months to make inappropriate comments about former Republican presidential and vice presidential candidates. Now-former host Martin Bashir left his daytime show in early December, nearly three weeks after he suggested that someone should defecate in the mouth of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, among other things.
